The Detroit Pistons traded Alex Acker to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, creating salary-cap space for moves the next two offseasons. Detroit dealt the seldom-used guard and its second-round pick in 2011 for a conditional second-round selection in 2013 from the Clippers. Los Angeles also waived center Cheikh Samb.
Pistons Going Small: The Detroit Pistons know they have an issue with too many very good players at the guard and wing positions, but they don’t think that’s an issue that should stop them from winning. Last night, with guard Rip Hamilton healthy, Coach Michael Curry left Allen Iverson and Rodney Stuckey as his starting backcourt, inserted Hamilton at the three, moved Tayshaun Prince to the four, and sent Amir Johnson back to the bench, and Rasheed Wallace started at center.
